Our Sand Hill Cove beach rental is about 200 ft. from Roger Wheeler State Beach, beloved for its fine white sand, gentle surf and all-around family-friendly vibe. To get there, just wander along the private sandy path at the edge of the driveway, through the dunes and to the shore. It couldn't be easier! When you're ready to explore other beaches on this side of Narragansett, you can reach Town and Scarborough beaches by car in about 10 minutes. Is all that fresh ocean air making you hungry? Aunt Carrie's Ice Cream and Iggy's Doughboys & Chowder House are walking distance or a quick drive from the house. Or head a mile down the beach to George's of Galilee or Champlin's Seafood Deck. The famous Matunuck Oyster Bar ("farm-to-table and pond-to-plate") is 20 minutes by car. If you have time, sign up for a tour of Potter's Pond, home of the Oyster Bar, and learn about aquaculture and fisheries. For sightseeing, catch the ferry to Block Island (1 mile from the house at Galilee) to enjoy 17 miles of pristine beaches and see 19th century lighthouses dramatically perched on cliffs. Your Rhode Island vacation isn't complete without a visit to historic Wickford Village and its antique shops, boutiques and restaurants – a 25-minute jaunt from home. And don't miss the sailing town of Newport – 30 minutes from home – where you can hop on a "sight-sailing" boat or tour gilded mansions. Brown University and downtown Providence are a quick day trip. Or take the train to Boston (1 hour) for a Red Sox game – eat a hotdog and drink a beer on the way. New York is a 3-hour train ride straight to the city, no hassle with airport luggage or security. This Sand Hill Cove beach rental is a perfect home base for all your summer adventures!

5 stars all around!!!

If you’re looking for a family-friendly beach house THIS is it. The house has access to a private little pathway to the beach — 200 feet and you’re there. It’s a smaller beach with milder waves, which was perfect for our group. There’s a playground, snack shack, and ice cream stand as well as bathrooms at the beach. If you want more waves, we went to Scarborough beach for one day! There’s a cute little amusement park type place called Adventureland maybe 5 minutes up the road and ALL the kids loved it (bumper boats, go-kart racing, mini golf, arcade games, ice cream). There is a plaza right across with a Stop & Shop and Walgreens. We ate out at Iggy's Doughboys, George’s, Bike Stop pizza and TwoTen Oyster Bar (about 15 min drive but gorgeous waterfront).
